PIL in Madras High Court against IPL11

A PIL was filed in the Madras High Court on Wednesday, seeking to restrain the BCCI from conducting the 11th edition of Indian Premier League in the absence of adequate measures to prevent match-fixing and betting.

When the petition by IPS officer G Sampathkumar came up, the First Bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice A Selvam ordered notice to the Union home ministry and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
It then posted the matter for further hearing to April 13.
The bench orally observed that though the apprehensions of the petitioner were bona fide, how the game could be stalled just because there was a possibility of match-fixing and other offences.
To this, the petitioner said the intention was not to stall the game and agreed to amend the prayer accordingly.
Noting that it cannot be denied that such offences were still in existence, the bench said it was not sure what preventive measures can be brought in to check them.
"We have many laws to prevent corruption including the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, but can we say that corruption does not exist in society," it wondered.

The petitioner said as an investigating officer from Chennai, he was instrumental in exposing 2013 spot-fixing and betting in IPL matches.
"Contrary to the Lodha Committee report, vested interests still continue to be protected in the IPL and the questions of conflict of interest remain unaddressed by BCCI," he alleged.
This apart, he claimed the cricket board does not have any system of accountability in the performance of its anti-corruption unit and does not have a database of earnings of its players nor about bookies, fixers and kingpins of illegal betting.
In 2015, a panel appointed by the Supreme Court suspended Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals after finding them guilty in an illegal betting and match-fixing probe. Both franchises are back this season after serving the two-year ban.

The winning skipper of all ICC events in the game of cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been granted to receive the third highest civilian award in India, Padma Bhushan. The Ranchi lad is the 11th cricketer to be awarded such a great honour.

The Padma Bhushan which is initiated back in 1954, is given for conspicuous service of a high order by an individual in the respective field for the country. MS Dhoni who is widely regarded as one of the masterminds to grace the game of cricket was the unanimous choice for the selection panel to grant the honour.

MS Dhoni is currently serving the Indian team in limited overs format as he called curtains on his Test cricket to focus on white ball cricket. He led India to victory in 2007 and 2011 World Cups and then bagged Champions Trophy and Asia Cups under his belt. India has also been number 1 in Test cricket under his captaincy for quite a time.

India completed seven years of their famous World Cup triumph today and Mahendra Singh Dhoni played an integral role in taking them to the title. Dhoni took a brave decision to promote himself up the order despite being not in the best of forms in the whole tournament.

Dhoni scored a quickfire 91 and put together an alliance of 109 runs with southpaw Gautam Gambhir. The Delhi batsman also contributed with 97 runs to take India home which was the highest successful chase in the World Cup final.

There is no denying the fact that MS Dhoni took Indian cricket to great heights and he was an inspirational leader. The same legacy has now been carried on by current skipper Virat Kohli. Dhoni always led the Indian team with aplomb and deserved the prestigious award from the Government of India.

बीसीसीआई को IPL से होगा 2000 करोड़ रुपए का प्रॉफिट, टीमें भी कमाती हैं ऐसे

IPL के 11वें सीजन में भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड को लगभग 2017 करोड़ का प्रॉफिट होगा। प्रोजेक्शनरिपोर्ट के मुताबिकबीसीसीआई को मिलने वाले सरप्लस का 95 प्रतिशित हिस्सा तो सिर्फ IPL से ही आ जाएगा। क्रिकेट का ये धुआंधार फॉर्मेट क्रिकेट फैन्स में कितना लोकप्रिय है इसका अंदाजा इसी बात से लगाया जा सकता है।

आईपीएल में टीमें प्लेयर्स को ऑक्शन में खरीदने से लेकर उनके ठहरने, ट्रेवलिंग, सपोर्ट स्टाफ जैसी तमाम चीजों पर करोड़ो खर्च करती हैं । पर क्या आपने सोचा है कि करोड़ो रुपए खर्च करने वालीं ये फ्रेंचाइजी कैसे कमाई करती हैं? अगर नहीं तो जानिए कैसे होता है ये।

- किसी भी टीम की कमाई में स्पॉन्सर्स मेन सोर्स में से एक होते हैं। मैच में बाउंड्री रोप और वहां मौजूद बैरीकेड्स से लेकर प्लेयर्स की जर्सी, हेल्मेट, बैट, कैप्स, पैड, शूज हर चीज के स्पॉन्सर होते हैं जो अपनी पब्लिसिटी के लिए टीमों को करोड़ो रुपए चुकाते हैं। टीम को सबसे ज्यादा पैसा उन स्पॉन्सर्स से मिलता है जिनका नाम टीम जर्सी में सामने चेस्ट और बैक की ओर होता है। इसके अलावा स्पॉन्सर्स टीम के ऐड में भी नजर आते हैं।
- हर सीजन के लिए टीमों और स्पॉन्सर्स में डील होती है। इससे टीमों की कुल कमाई का 20 से 30 पर्सेंट यहीं से पूरा होता है।
मैच के मीडिया राइट्स से भी टीमों की कमाई होती है। टीमों को ये पैसा बीसीसीआई देता है। बीसीसीआई ब्रॉडकास्टिंग के मीडिया राइट्स चैनल्स को बेचता है और इससे होने वाली कमाई का हिस्सा टीमों में एग्रीमेंट के तहत बांटता है। बीसीसीआई इसमें टीमों को उनकी रैंकिंग के हिसाब से प्रॉफिट शेयर करती है। यानी फाइनल्स तक पहुंचने वाली टीमों को सबसे ज्यादा पैसा मिलता है। इससे टीमों की कुल कमाई का लगभग 60 पर्सेंट हिस्सा इसी से पूरा होता है। वर्तमान में आईपीएल के ब्रॉडकास्टिंग राइट्स स्टार इंडिया के पास  हैं। इसके लिए स्टार बीसीसीआई को अगले 5 सीजन के लिए 16437 करोड़ रुपए देगा।

टिकट सेल से टीमों को 10 से 15 पर्सेंट की कमाई होती है। जिस टीम के जितने ज्यादा फैन-फॉलोआर्स होते हैं उसे उतना ज्यादा फायदा होता है। ज्यादा फैन यानी ज्यादा टिकट की बिक्री। आमतौर पर टिकट्स की कीमत 800 रु से लेकर 20000 रुपए तक होती है और एक मैच में एवरेज 40 से 50 हजार दर्शक होते हैं। हालांकि फ्रेंचाइजी कुछ पैसा स्टेट एसोसिएशन को भी चुकाती हैं। साथ ही टिकट की कीमत ग्राउंड की सिटिंग कैपेसिटी और किसी शहर में मैच हो रहा है इसपर भी निर्भर करती है।

कमाई में ब्रांड वेल्यू का भी अहम रोल है। अगर टीम में अच्छी ब्रांड वेल्यू वाले प्लेयर्स हैं तो टीम को ज्यादा कमाई के मौके मिलेंगे। उदाहरण के तौर पर, अगर टीम में एमएस धोनी, विराट कोहली, एबी डिवलियर्स, गौतम गंभीर जैसे प्लेयर्स हैं तो टीम को और ज्यादा इन्वेस्टर्स और ब्रांड मिलेंगे। इसके अलावा अगर टीम को सपोर्ट करने शाहरुख खान, प्रिटी जिंटा या बिजनेस स्टार्स जैसे नीता अंबानी, केशव बंसल आते हैं, तो भी टीमों की व्यूअरशिप और कमाई बढ़ती है। इससे टीम की इनकम में 5 से 10 पर्सेंट का फायदा होता है।
आईपीएल में विनर टीम के लिए इस बार प्राइज मनी 26 करोड़ रुपए है। हालांकि, इतनी प्राइज मनी बड़ी टीमों के लिए कुछ भी नहीं हैं जो एक प्लेयर को खरीदने के लिए 10 से 15 करोड़ खर्च कर देती हैं।

SRH replace David Warner with Alex Hales:

 Alex Hales England explosion opener has been picked by SRH as replacement for David Warner.

Base price 1crore from the registered and available player pool (Rapp) list, a BCCI release stated on saturday (March 31).

Hales is the only Englishman to feature in the top 10 list of the ICC T20 ranking.
Earlier played for Mumbai Indians in 2015 edition.

Warner's loss will be a massive void to fill for the franchise given that the Australian opener had been a vital log in SRH's fortunes over the year. Warner led SRH to title glory in 2016.

IPL 2018: आईपीएल 2018 की शुरुआत 7 अप्रैल से हो रही है. सीजन-11 का पहला मैच डिफेंडिंग चैंपियन मुंबई इंडियंस और चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के बीच खेला जाएगा. चेन्नई की टीम दो साल बाद आईपीएल में वापसी कर रही है.

आईपीएल में वापसी के साथ ही चेन्नई की टीम को एक ऐसा लकी चार्म मिल गया है जिससे उसका सीजन-11 का खिताब जीतना लगभग तय है. यह लकी चार्म टीम के कप्तान धोनी नहीं बल्कि स्पिन गेंदबाज कर्ण शर्मा हैं.

आईपीएल सीजन-10 में कर्ण शर्मा मुंबई इंडियंस के लिए खेले थे और मुंबई की टीम आईपीएल में तीसरी बार चैंपियन बनी. इससे पहले करण आईपीएल सीजन-9 में सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद के लिए खेले थे और हैदराबाद की टीम ने खिताब पर अपना कब्जा किया.
कर्ण शर्मा को चेन्नई सुपरकिंग्स की टीम ने 5 करोड़ रुपए की बड़ी रमक खर्च कर अपनी टीम में शामिल किया. करण के लिए नीलामी में चेन्नई और मुंबई के बीच जोरदार टक्कर देखने को मिली थी लेकिन आखिरी में सफलता चेन्नई को मिली.

आईपीएल करियर में कर्ण ने 55 मैचों में 49 विकेट लिए हैं जिसमें उनका सबसे बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन 16 रन देकर चार विकेट का रहा है.

The CSK management were gunned to buy back their favorite players. mainly Dhoni. The former India skipper will lead Chennai franchise again this year.

इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग के 11वें सीजन में जगह बनाने से चूकने वाले भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के ऑलराउंडर इरफान पठान क्रिकेट के मैदान पर अब बदली हुई भूमिका में नजर आएंगे. जम्मू कश्मीर क्रिकेट संघ (जेकेसीए) ने2018-19 सीजन के लिए पठान को टीम का कोच-कम-मेंटर नियुक्त किया है.

पिछले कुछ समय से पठान क्रिकेट के मैदान से बाहर थे पिछले सीजन में रणजी और बड़ौदा वनडे टीम और टी 20 टीम में भी उन्हें जगह नहीं मिली थी.

जेकेसीए के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी आशिक बुखारी ने कहा, ‘‘वह( पठान) एक साल तक हमारी टीम के कोच- कम- मेंटर रहेंगे.’’
राष्ट्रीय टीम के लिए 33 साल के पठान ने 2003 से 2012 तक 29 टेस्ट, 120 वनडे और 24 टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेले हैं. पठान पिछले दो घरेलू सत्र में बड़ौदा टीम के कप्तान थे.

पठान ने यहां शेर-ए-कश्मीर स्टेडियम में युवा क्रिकेटरों से बातचीत कर अगले स्तर पर पहुंचने के लिए उन्हें अपनी खेल पर कड़ी मेहनत करने की सलाह दी.

बाएं हाथ के इस स्विंग गेंदबाज ने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ टेस्ट मैच के पहले ही ओवर में ही हैट-ट्रिक लेकर सनसनी मचा दी थी. कुछ खास मौकों पर उन्होंने बल्ले से भी धमाल मचाया लेकिन ग्रेग चैपल के कोच बनने के बाद इनका खेल पूरी तरह बदल गया.

2008 में उन्होंने आखिरी बार टेस्ट क्रिकेट खेला था जबकि 2012 में आखिरी बार रंगनी जर्सी में दिखे थे.

रिलायंस जियो की ओर से जारी बयान के मुताबिक जिन यूजर ने Jio प्राइम मेंबरशिप के लिए 31 मार्च 2018 या उससे पहले ही सब्सक्राइब किया है, उन्हें कंपनी की ओर से बिना किसी एक्‍स्‍ट्रा चार्ज के प्राइम सर्विस मिलती रहेगी। लेकिन इसके साथ कुछ शर्तें भी हैं।
कंपनी ने बताया है कि अगले एक साल तक के लिए फ्री मेंबरशिप के लिए मौजूदा कस्‍टमर्स को दोबारा से एक्‍टिव कराना होगा। इसके लिए प्राइम मेंबर को जियो ऐप पर विजिट करना होगा। मायजियो ऐप में जाने के बाद 12 महीने की कॉम्प्लीमेंट्री मेंबरशिप का ऑप्‍शन आएगा। इस ऑप्‍शन में अपनी रुचि जाहिर करनी होगी। इसके बाद आपकी जियो प्राइम सब्सक्रिप्शन जारी रहेगी। यह ऑफर सीमित समय के लिए है। यह सीमित समय कब तक है, इस बारे में कंपनी ने कोई जानकारी नहीं दी है।

अगर आपने अभी तक जियो प्राइम मेंबरशिप नहीं ली है, तो यह मेंबरशिप 99 रुपए में मिलेगी। एक तरह से देखा जाए तो नए जियो प्राइम मेंबर को भी कोई नुकसान नहीं होने वाला।
जियो प्राइम सब्सक्रिप्शन के तहत, पहले की तरह यूजर को सस्ते दाम में रिचार्ज पैक और जियो ऐप्स का फ्री सब्सक्रिप्शन मिलता रहेगा। कंपनी ने इस संबंध में कोई नया एलान नहीं किया है। कंपनी का कहना है कि वह आने वाले समय में यूजर को और सुविधाएं मुहैया कराएगी।

The biggest talking point ahead of the tournament that kicks off on 7 April is the return of two former champions back into its fold. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals, who were suspended for two seasons after some of their key personnel were found guilty of corruption, have had a major impact on the league over the years both in terms of their performances as well as in their fan following, and their return will only boost the league's viewership and attendances.

There would've been many a fan dying to watch Mahendra Singh Dhoni back in the yellow jersey, or Ajinkya Rahane in Rajasthan's blue, the dream of which was realised in the Player Auction that took place on 27 and 28 January.

Among the other developments that have taken place in the build-up to the 11th edition of the league is the outpouring of wealth from investors in terms of the sponsorship and media rights deals that have once again helped the BCCI assert itself as the richest organisation in the cricketing world.

Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo retained the title sponsorship rights for Rs 2,199 crore for the period between 2018 and 2022, an increase by a whopping margin of 554 percent. Broadcaster Star India, on the other hand, beat all competitors at the Media Rights Tender by a fair distance with a mammoth bid of Rs 16,347 crore for the next five seasons, overshadowing the previous deal of Rs 800 crore per season with SPN India.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians, which pipped the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in the summit clash of last year's tournament, face comeback side Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday, 7 April. The following day will then see Delhi Daredevils host Kings XI Punjab, with Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second game of the double header. A total of 56 matches will be played in the league stage, which will then be followed by two qualifiers and an eliminator (22, 23 and 25 May), followed by the final on 27 May at the Wankhede Stadium.
